Product Engineer

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum 3-years firearms industry work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency SolidWorks CAD software and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
  • High level of technical expertise in firearms.
  • Experience in competitive analysis, pricing, planning, inventory control
  • Excellent project management and execution with attention to detail.
  • Hands-on problem-solving and mechanical aptitude desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem solving and failure analysis capability to resolve design and production issues.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and create design concepts, drawings in Solidworks.
  • Design, create, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes.
  • Generate and build line layouts within planned timeframes for New Product Introductions. Identify gaps and/or unnecessary redundancies.
  • Make improvements of existing products. Investigate and solve problems in cooperation with Quality and Operations departments.
  • Manage and maintain Technical Product Roadmap and scheduling.
  • Define, develop, and maintain product testing protocols for each product and lead testing exercises to validate new product designs and product improvements.
  • Maintain standards for technical drawings, internal specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Support Marketing team with technical data review, asset creation, and attendance at trade and consumer shows as a subject matter expert.
  • Create tooling specifications, design, prototype, and build production fixturing for existing and planned production lines as well as misc. R&D activities.
  • Work closely with international vendors and engineers on proposed projects. Initiate and maintain vendor and outside technical resources as needed to be successful in developing new processes and products.
  • Define, adapt, or improve key processes including but are not limited to Product Lifecycle Management, Quality Control Reports, and Competitive Analysis in price and technical ability between multiple vendors on new projects.
  • Position does require regularly scheduled international travel as well as domestic travel including but not limited to tradeshows, shoots, etc.

This position is based in Old Saybrook, Connecticut OR Somersworth, NH and is a full time position. Telecommuting not available.
